Since 2017, Thomas has been leading the global digital services portfolio which develops, markets and supports Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions’ Connectivity and Analytics Solution and Services. During this time, he also served as acting Vice President Digital and Product Lines responsible for the aftermarket portfolio mix including parts, services, engineering, digitalization and electrification. Prior to his current role, Thomas held various roles with a focus on digital transformation and new business models (for example: introduced solutions such as asset management and operator guidance) for major manufacturing companies such as Volvo Construction Equipment, Hilti and Atlas Copco. Thomas Van Hecke is a Belgian national and is fluent in 5 languages. He holds an M.Sc. in Global Management from Antwerp Management School.
